Introduction:
Taichung Industrial Automation Exhibition was the first exhibition to take place in the Greater Taichung International Expo Center since its opening. The expo center is located right next to the Taichung High Speed Rail station. With such easy access, the venue could always attract large numbers of visitors, including buyers from Japan, Korea and Israel. With the continuous flow of visitors, the record was set at over 90,000 person-times during the 5-day exhibition, which marked the first success of the GTIEC.

As Wu Chang-Chen, CEO of Song Gia Industrial Co. pointed out, with participation of Japanese automatic lathes, the exhibition at the new CTIEC was highly successful, making Taichung a much more attractive MICE partner for international firms.

In all, compound lathes of Japanese brands and those made in Taiwan were the biggest winners in the exhibition. With GTC Trading and Sang Chia Trading taking the lead, Chang Peng Trading caught up with the trend and reaped $50 million from orders placed in one single day. Soing Chia Ent. Co. also struck good deals during the exhibition.

Japanese brands such as Star, Amada, Kira, Okamot, Tsugami, Miyano, Nakamura made up the most popular block in the exhibition. The compound Swiss-type lathe made in Taiwan, however, didn't let them steal the show. Daystar Machinery, Jinn Fa Machine Industrial, Seho Industry, Kuen Jeng Machinery and Cheng Tai Trading were in the spotlight, attracting over 2,000 local automated lathe manufacturers with their precision, high speed, automation and multiple applications. It could well be said that Swiss-type lathes of Japanese brands and those made in Taiwan are the largest competitors at the exhibition, both alluring visitors with the best of their best machines.

The Special Area of Plastics & Rubber Publication consisting of exhibitors such as Chen Hsong Machinery Taiwan and Multiplas Enginery, was nearly entirely dedicated to plastic injection equipments. Servo power-saving injection machines were operated on the spot, the products from which were given out to the large crowd packing the booths.
