What is UCLG ASPAC ?

United Cities and Local Government (UCLG) is the only local government organization with members including individual cities and national associations and is also recognized by the United Nations. UCLG ASPAC is the biggest of the eight sections in UCLG and spans more than 7,000 local authorities. The Secretariat is located in Jakarta, Indonesia.
United Cities and Local Government Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) is a nonprofit network of local authorities that creates and strengthens partnerships between local governments in the Asia Pacific region. Founded in Taipei in 2004, UCLG ASPAC is the region’s key knowledge-management hub for local government issues. The organization strives to build global cooperation and information exchange, promote cultural understanding and stimulate economic development.
